Viña La Playa (“the beach”) takes its name from the vineyards that lie at the shores of the Tinguiririca River, close to Rapel Lake in the Colchagua Valley. There, Viña La Playa reaps the benefits of the exceptional climate conditions. Cooler than in other parts of the valley, the weather here produces grapes that slowly ripe until reaching a perfect balance.

Axel is the high end range of Viña La Playa; it showcases the best of Chile’s Colchagua Valley.
These wines are named after the Axelsen family, who believed in Viña La Playa since its inception, and have closely followed its development ever since.
